YMCA SOS-Week 5
Hello again Bonners! Well, it's officially been the half-way mark of camp! It's so hard to believe how time flies! I really enjoyed camp this week, because we did so many great activities! This week, we had a good amount of campers and all of the regular camps were in session. On Monday Wednesday and Friday, I helped out with the Preschool camp, and they really loved the themes we planned for them! On Monday we learned about colors, Wednesday about Dinosouars, and Friday about fish! I could tell they enjoyed storytime and the crafts centered on the themes very much and of course their playground time! When I wasn't helping out with Preschool camp on Tuesday and Thursday, I assisted the other counselors with the Adventure Camp. We did our usual activities, such as crafting and indoor games, but because it was raining during the afternoon for most of the week, the kids didn't get to go swimming very much this week! On Thursday, I helped chaperone the Teen Field trip which was to the local Mall! We watched the Spongebob movie in the theatre, ate in the food court, and walked around stores afterwards and the kids bought some merchandise for back to school! Again, I enjoyed this week very much and I'm really realizing how much I've made a bond and an impact with these wonderful kids. I can't wait to see what other fun events lie ahead for the kids in camp next week!
