Week 5 - Yuppp Well
This week I had an incentive for the kids. If they did all their work well with no complaints, then I would take them to the pool. Guess what? The work was done well and there were no complaints :). It's amazing to see how well rewards work. In math, we are still working on addition. For Isaac, it is easy but for Jasmin, not so much. Jasmin was born with only a thumb on one of her hands which makes it really difficult for her to do math so we use objects instead of fingers. Isaac solves problems faster than her but I have to keep reminding her that it's okay and that it's not a race. In class, she also has this problem. When the other students finish faster than her, she gets upset and either bubbles in whatever answer she wants or gives up and starts crying. She doesn't like when other students finish ahead of her, which is understandable, but I am trying to get her to understand that it doesn't matter who is first and who is last.
